Pick 5 for Fall Fashion – Part 2

Danette-300Michelle Gill (shown in the photo on the left with Danette, the store manager of the Goodwill Store and Donation Center on Palmer Street in Milwaukee) is part of the team at Fashionable Demand, a fashion consulting and editorial styling enterprise. As part of my on-going series of spotlighting fashion voices and their choices, I asked her to pick five items that would make her fall fashion must-have list. Here’s what she picked and why …

United Colors of Benetton blazer in navy blue: $5.99. “A classic navy blazer is an office and wardrobe staple. You can do no wrong with this purchase.”

Xhilaration strapless print jumpsuit: $7.99. “It’s a fun-and-bright pattern that will inject a sense of youthfulness to your wardrobe. Extra bonus: It’s a piece that will easily transition from fall to spring, and into summer.”

NWT gold tassle-and-beaded necklace: $6.99.  “The bead work on the necklace helps to keep the look cool, yet still dressy casual. This is also a piece that could easily be used to jazz up a simple t-shirt and jeans outfit.”

Lauren by Ralph Lauren brown belt with gold buckle: $2.99. “Nothing says ‘class’ more than defining your waist with a slim leather belt.”

Fuchsia suede platform pumps by Bakers: $4.99. “I wanted to play on the fuchsia that was in the jumpsuit. This shoe is a great punch of color and will garner some attention as you walk by.”

Michelle adds, “The overall inspiration for this outfit was a fun, work-wear outfit that would add some color among the prevailing dark colors of fall. Bright colors are not just reserved for spring and summer. Color should brighten your everyday.”

Grand total of the entire ensemble: $26.36!!

I love the fact that all of these items can be worn multiple ways, not only the way our expert paired them. No matter what you purchase, you can always find the confidence to try new things without going over budget when you shop at Goodwill!
